Craft Area

Today, I am participating in a link up with Creations With Christina. If you are new to my blog (and most of you are since my blog is less than a year old), WELCOME! I blog about diy projects, home maintenance and decor, project life, crafting, and my life in general. I have many areas of interest and kind of just wing it based on my mood.

I am a hobby/ part-time blogger, work full-time outside of the home and have strive to not buy every little thing that I see online or from bloggers who do craft full timeout as a profession.

This week’s challenge is to share our craft spaces. I don’t have a craft room, I have a craft space. I’m generally happy with the space but it is never clean. I have bad habit of leaving projects out when I’m working on them and often move on to new projects before cleaning up from the last project. These are habits I am working on breaking slowly and steadily.

My craft space is located in my living room. I could use my guest bedroom but I like having my crafts out in the open near where there is the most light in the house. I also like being near the biggest television in the house as I work on projects.

I tried really hard to find a photo of my craft space when it’s clean but that apparently does not exist! So we’ll have to stick with reality.

This is what the space USUALLY looks like and this is relatively clean!

You can see that I have a lot of stuff and this is less than I had a year ago! I try to purge at least once a year and it looks like we’re getting to that point again.

My desk top is usually overflowing with supplies and paper scraps but I recently put everything back where it should be.

I don’t know if I have my space organized in the best way possible but I am working on getting rid of stuff that I haven’t used in a while. What I know to be true, is that I use what is most accessible to me and what I can see. So the items that are on the same side of the table that I work from are my most used items.  My plan is to have the table look less busy/crowded.

Thanks for taking a look at my craft space. If you have any tips for storage and organization, please feel free to share with me.

Great craft space! So many nice windows all around to let in the light. I hear you on the purging. I just did one last night. Of course I found things I forgot I had LOL!
